Setting up Background

Our school is a research university in Gaoping area. The Hakka Research Center was established to recruit relevant scholars in different fields of research. Through this platform, we collaborate and touch each other to stimulate each other’s academic creativity and help upgrade Hakka research and teaching. It also cultivates Hakka research talents and promotes Hakka culture and other work to devote efforts to the research of "Hakka Studies". With the rich and solid humanities and educational academic connotations, it will become an important base for major research and promotion of Hakka culture in the Gaoping area. Since 2006, the Department of Chinese Literature has course of the "Introduction to Hakka". The number of elective students is increasing, especially for students who are not Hakka. Through the planning and teaching of this course, students will gradually understand the Hakka community and expand their personal life experience from the study of Hakka.

  3. We hold academic lectures, seminars, workshops, training courses related to Hakka.
  4. We also deal with other matters related to international Hakka research and the development of Taiwan Hakka, including Hakka research in Taiwan, mainland China, Southeast Asia and global regions.
  5. Regarding the construction of Hakka studies, in addition to the original "Introduction to Hakka", we hope to  offer more Hakka research courses through the integrated operation of the General Knowledge Center, scuh as "Hakka Literature" and "Hakka Language and Culture" , "Hakka Folk Song", and "Hakka Cultural Creation",so on.
